Here Is My Report For This Month

Police K-9 Officer "Raider" Injured In Shooting

Police dog “Raider” was being treated at an emergency animal hospital early Saturday after he was shot during an officer-involved shooting at a north Scottsdale residence that killed a 26-year-old male suspect at the scene.
Late afternoon Saturday, the police K-9 was in stable condition “but not out of the woods yet,” said Sgt. Mark Clark, a Scottsdale police spokesman.
Authorities deployed Raider when the unidentified suspect, who was “extremely intoxicated” and carrying a pool cue in each hand, ignored police commands and continued advancing in a threatening manner, Clark said.
Despite being bit by the police K-9, the man kept advancing at officers. Clark said it was too windy to deploy a Taser or mace, so police opened fire on the man.
The incident unraveled just after 4 a.m. when a 35-year-old  woman called police reporting that her boyfriend was in a fight with another man who had a knife.
  The investigation is continuing.

Man killed by police identified

SCOTTSDALE – Scottsdale police Sunday identified a man shot to death by officers and said a police dog injured in the incident is expected to make a full recovery.
Jason Edward Prostrollo, 26, died Saturday while advancing on officers with a pool cue in each hand, authorities said. The police canine, “Raider,” was wounded while attempting to subdue Prostrollo.
The suspect had met a Scottsdale couple at a bar and came back to their home at their invitation, said Sgt. Mark Clark, a police spokesman.
Prostrollo, described as extremely intoxicated, got into a fight with the male resident.
The female resident called 911, and Prostrollo left the home in a cab.
He pulled a knife on the driver and forced him to return to the house. When officers arrived, the residents fled the home while Prostrollo remained inside until emerging with the pool cues, which led to the fatal confrontation, police said.
Clark said Raider, who suffered a gunshot wound, “is improving every hour. Today, he was standing up, moving about quite well for the severity of his injury. We anticipate him to recover from his wound.”
